Stephen Peil Renshi 4th Dan M.G.R.Y. |
|
| I was born on the 24th October 1971 in Leeds, Yorkshire. I first started training in the Martial Arts, in 1979, in Shuko Kai Karate. This was under the tuition of Roy Stanhope Sensei 7th Dan and Neil Fagan Sensei 5th Dan. The grade I attained in this was Purple Belt 4th Kyu. After this I was introduced to the World Ju-Jitsu Federation. My instructor within this art was Dave Hodgson 6th Dan. I finally gained my 1st Dan (Shodan) in this art, under the tutelage of Robert Clark 9th Dan. After studying in Ju-Jitsu I trained in the British Goshin Budo Association gaining 1st Dan Black Belt in Goshin Budo. |
Shortly after gaining these grades I had to move from the North West down to Redditch for my job as a Prison Officer. I have worked at HMP Long Lartin now for nearly 10 years and have worked within the Segregation Unit of this High Security Prison for 3 and a half years.
While in Redditch I joined another Ju-Jitsu club run by John and Dave Walker both 3rd Dan in Ju-Jitsu and 1st Dan in Aikido to my knowledge, this is where I met my wife Laura Peil Sensei.
In 2002 I founded the Aka Ryu Goshin Bu-Jutsu Kai, but later changed the name to Aka Ryu Ju-Jitsu.
In 2003 I gained my 4th Dan under the direction of Jeff Whitehead 6th Dan and Darren Whitehead 5th Dan, following an arduous grading.
In Feb 2005 we affiliated to Ishin Ryu after meeting Kevin Pell Hanshi for the first time at the Shochu Geiko in September 2004.
I have trained with Geoff Thompson, Peter Consterdine, Carley Gracie, Rik Young, Neil Adamson various courses and of course Kevin Pell Hanshi from Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu
In March 2005 Stephen Peil Sensei was made a Member of the Guild of Renmei Yudansha by Kevin Pell Hanshi at the 15th anniversary presentation dinner in Borehamwood Hertfordshire.
At the following year's anniversary dinner on March 25th 2006, Stephen Peil Sensei was awarded the title of Renshi by Kevin Pell Hanshi for his outstanding contribution to the martial arts in general and his commitment and hard work within the Sekai Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu Renmei.
Due to my varied Martial Arts training, the Aka Ryu Goshin Bu-Jutsu Kai incorporates aspects of many of the Martial Arts that I have studied to date including:- Karate, Ju-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Aikido and Kobudo.
