Paul Rudd Sensei
2nd Dan M.G.R.Y.

Paul Rudd Sensei
Paul Rudd Sensei was born in 1968 and originates from Blyth, Northumberland. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1985 as a medic and has visited many areas of the world throughout his career, including; Germany, Falklands, Turkey, Seira Leon, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, USA, and took part in both Gulf War One and Two. He took up martial arts initially with Judo and then progressed to Ju-Jitsu, which he finds a more interesting and practical art. He has been able to maintain his training whilst serving overseas, mixing with other martial artists of varying styles to widen his knowledge. This additional training effort and commitment was rewarded at his grading on the 6th of March 2004 when he was awarded his Shodan (1st Dan Black belt).
Whilst serving at Royal Air Force Leeming in North Yorkshire he ran his first club and maintained a steady club population of both adults and children. On moving to Royal Air Force St. Athan in South Wales, in June 2004 he started a new club which has enjoyed a steady membership and has been represented at the Shocku Geiko in 2005 and training seminars at Honbu.

Rudd Sensei has worked hard to promote the art of Ju-Jitsu in both clubs and in the local community. At the annual Ishin Ryu dinner in 2005 he was honoured to be admitted as a Member of the Guild of Renmei Yudansha (M.G.R.Y.) and was appointed as the National Director Wales by Kevin Pell Hanshi. At the 2006 Annual Dinner he was honoured to be presented his Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt) by Pell Hanshi.

He is married to Jane and has two sons, Bill and Eddie, who all practice Ju-Jitsu and have assisted him in running the clubs and promoting the art of Ju-Jitsu.

Paul Rudd Sensei currently teaches at the R.A.F. St. Athan Dojo

A decision was recently made by the Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu World technical Council to appoint Paul Rudd Sensei to the position of "National Director Wales" due to his obvious passion for his art along with his leadership and development skills, and we have every faith that Paul Rudd Sensei will strive to maintain the high standards of instruction already achieved and firmly in place at his R.A.F. Ju-Jitsu clubs.
