Mark Hayden-Smith Renshi
  Mark Hayden-Smith Renshi, born in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire in 1957, Mark began training with Kevin Pell Hanshi in May 1975.

He has served in 217 Squadron Royal Engineers within E.O.D (bomb disposal unit).

On completing his service he began training at the Borehamwood Dojo of Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu.

In 1994, Mark became a full time professional instructor alongside his long standing friend and instructor, Kevin Pell Hanshi.

Mark passed his 2nd Dan after conducing a series of weapon Kata and advanced combination techniques in front of the Kevin Pell Hanshi and senior members of the Sekai Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu Renmei world technical council at the Honbu dojo.

Today, Mark is responsible for the running of 28 Ju-Jitsu classes every week of the year as well as being the national coach for infant and junior training and development within Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu Great Britain.

    On the 29th of March 2003, Mark Hayden-Smith Sensei received his 3rd Dan (Sandan) from Kevin Pell Hanshi on the evening of the 13th anniversary presentation dinner of the formation of the Sekai Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu Renmei. Kevin Pell Hanshi also bestowed upon Mark Hayden-Smith Sensei the title and position of National Coach Great Britain, with the responsibility for the training and development of the youth within Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu.

    On Saturday the 26th of March 2005, Kevin Pell Hanshi presented Mark Hayden-Smith Sensei with his Yondan (4th Dan) and awarded him the prestigious title of Renshi (Highly Accomplished Teacher/ Polished Teacher). This title was presented at the 15th anniversary dinner presentation evening, in Borehamwood Hertfordshire (the home of Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu) celebrating the formation of the Sekai Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu Renmei in recognition for his outstanding contribution to his teaching and future development of the youth within Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu, Great Britain.
