Chalky White Sempai

Jamie "Chalky" White was born on 29th November 1976 in Truro, Cornwall. He read for a degree in chemistry at Leicester University and, after a number of jobs, joined the Royal Air Force in 1999 as a Navigator. After 2 1/2 years training he was unsuccessful and took a career break to teach secondary school science in Lincolnshire. He then rejoined the RAF in 2003 as a Supply Officer, spending a Tour at RAF Leeming, before undertaking a 9 month course with the Army to learn the secrets behind fuels. Late in 2005 he was returned to the RAF, on posting to Tactical Supply Wing at Stafford.

His martial arts training began with Judo, both as a child and at University. After this he was attracted to Ju Jitsu and, upon arrival at RAF Leeming, was fortunate to meet Sensei's Paul and Jane Rudd, who remain firm friends and a constant inspiration. Here his passion for the art was galvanised, earning his 1st Kyu grade and, as a result of the Rudds being posted, was privileged to take-over the Leeming club.

He is currently employed on a Unit with a very high operational tempo, but is working hard towards being ready for attempting his Shodan later in the year. He has now been able to establish a new RAF club which, although very much in its infancy, has made a promising start, training in the Station Gym at TSW's home in Stafford.

He is married to Sarah, who is starting Ju Jitsu for the first time and, along with a number of his work colleagues, is helping to run and promote the club.
