The Venue was founded on the 18th October 2000 by Soke Kevin Pell, as a sister Dojo to The Hawksmoor Centre to cope with the ever increasing demand for Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu within the Borough of Hertsmere. The classes are taught by National Coach Great Britain, Renshi Mark Hayden Smith black belt 4th Dan, who is responsible for the training and development of the youth within Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu.
Separate classes are run every Wednesday for children aged 4-7yrs from 6pm to 7pm and 8-12yrs from 7pm to 8pm. Lessons are structured so that the children have a warm up session using team games followed by step by step instruction on Ju-Jitsu techniques.
The Venue Dojo now boasts the largest classes in our organisation for teenagers aged 13-16yrs, the Intermediate group from 8pm to 9pm. These classes are taught by club coach MT Sempai, where teenagers train in preparation before moving up to the adult group. Intermediates follow the same syllabus as the Adult class and their gradings also have the same structure, aimed at demonstrating their ability to defend themselves using the techniques from the syllabus.
