    Information

The Club was founded by Renshi Maurice Thorpe 4th Dan, who has more than thirty years experience in the art of Judo. In 1995 he was joined by Adam Sewell and together they made Brandon Judo a successful Club. In 2002 the Club moved to where it now resides in Weeting Village Hall, and changed its name to Weeting Judo Club.

In 2003 Dave Kingsnorth took over the Club and built it up again to over 40 students from all age groups. He reintroduced the family side of the Club with a small cafe with tables and chairs so the parent can sit and watch their children in comfort. He had the support of Renshi Maurice Thorpe, along with his Daughter Donna and Son Karl. Soon some of the senior members from Brandon came back and the Club has grown in strength.

The social side of the Club is very important and has involved everyone in fundraising events and special outings. Money has been raise to completely cover the hall floor in mats so that all the students can train safely.

The Club endeavors to keep evolving and welcomes all ages to join them.
