Kanazawa Budo Dojos
September 2007
Paddy Swallow Kyoshi

Following a few weeks off over the summer (if you can call it that!), Kanazawa Budo Club started back at the beginning of September in full swing. It's great to see all the students back on the first nights of training, eager to go.

Club instructors Kyoshi Paddy and Sensei Scott were joined by student Greg Thurston at the Shochu Geiko for a great weekend of training. The three tried as many arts as possible throughout the weekend and Kyoshi Paddy had the honour of instructing 2 of the weekends sessions while Sensei Scott bounced around as Uki. Following the weekend there was a few aches particularly of the abs following the 2nd days warm up. A very enjoyable weekend was had by all and several techniques will be taken back to the students of the club.

In the opening weeks of the term some students have, as always, stood out among the rest. Student of the month certificates have been awarded to these hard working judokas. The six Kanazawa Budo Club students of the month for September are:

Joe Wood - Fenstanton Primary School.
Courtney Weller - Stukeley Primary School.

Joseph Flach - St Ivo Leisure Centre
Courtney Weller - Stukeley Primary School
Jack Fairhurst - Somersham Victory Hall
Trever Nightingill - Huntingdon Medway Centre
Gabriel Davis - Whittlesey Sir Harry Smith Community College
Joe Wood - Fenstanton Primary School

I think Joe's face says it all! I do not know if it's for getting the student of the month or for just standing next to Sensei Leeanne!

Gabriel Davis - Whittlesey Sir Harry Smith Community College.
Trever Nightingill - Huntingdon Medway Centre.

A big well done to them all, may they continue to work hard and encourage others with their enthusiasm.

We look forward to seeing you all at the first Ishin Ryu Judo championships on the 4th November in Huntingdon, the interest up to now is very encouraging.

Yours in Budo
